England vs Iceland 1-0

England faced off against Iceland in a highly anticipated match, resulting in a 1-0 victory for the English side. The game was closely contested, with both teams displaying strong defensive capabilities and tactical awareness.

England managed to secure the win with a goal from Raheem Sterling in the 90th minute of the game. This late goal proved to be decisive and showcased England's ability to capitalize on opportunities when they arise.

Cole Palmer again starts, with Bukayo Saka and Trent Alexander-Arnold on the bench. Jude Bellingham misses out entirely as he's given extra rest after his Champions League-winning exertions for Real Madrid.

 England will also have concerns over the fitness of centre-back Stones, who was replaced at half-time after appearing to roll his ankle in the first minute, though manager Gareth Southgate later played down the severity of the injury.

Iceland put up a valiant effort throughout the match, but ultimately fell short in their quest for victory. Their disciplined defense kept England at bay for much of the game, but they were unable to find the back of the net themselves

This victory for England is sure to boost their confidence as they continue their campaign in international competitions. It highlights their resilience and determination to come out on top even in challenging circumstances.

Harry Kane somehow squandered from mere inches out, it was a very quiet evening for England and it looks like there's plenty of work to do before the international tournament gets underway
