NILES — Patrick G. Sylvester Sr., 59, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon May 11, 2024 at the Trumbull Regional Medical Center of a heart ailment. He was born Dec. 30, 1964, in Warren, the son of James V. and Patricia R. Fitzpatrick Sylvester Sr. and lived his entire life in the Niles community. Pat was a 1983 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, where he excelled in football and track and field events. He graduated in 2000 from Youngstown State University with degrees in criminal justice and psychology. For the past 29 years, Pat was employed as an adult parole officer with the State of Ohio. As a young adult, he owned and worked tirelessly at Sylvester’s Restaurant in Niles.
