Thomas Evans III, 49, is expected to be sentenced next month to 50 years to life in state prison for shooting 27-year-old National City resident Saundralina Williams on March 5, 2022. Evans was set to go to trial this week in connection with the shooting, but pleaded guilty Wednesday to murder, plus an allegation of using a firearm in Williams’ killing.
