Members of Jordan’s armed forces in the Eastern Military Zone, working with the Anti-Narcotics Department thwarted the attempt to smuggle the drugs into the country on Friday. Several of the suspects were killed in a gunfight that also left several injured – while others managed to flee across the border back into Syria, Jordanian news agency PETRA reported.
