2024 Masters field: who is playing at Augusta National

Masters Tournament at Augusta National is one of the most prestigious events in the world of golf. As we look ahead to the 2024 tournament, golf fans are buzzing with excitement over which players will be competing for the coveted green jacket.

Among the top contenders are current world number one, Jon Rahm, who has been in stellar form leading up to the tournament. Other favorites include Rory McIlroy, who is seeking his first Masters victory, and defending champion Cameron Smith.

Scottie Scheffler recently added a second PLAYERS Championship to his resume. Can the defending champ do the same at the Masters? He is the unquestioned No. 1 player in the world right now, but he will have plenty of challengers.

Augusta National has stood the test of time with those who have solved the riddle once before generally having the answers year after year.

“The course is very firm,” Xander Schauffele said. “It’s probably some of the best shape I’ve seen in previous years, to be honest. I don’t know how the weather has been, but it’s a shame that it might rain at some point this week because it’s looking like a really hard, really firm.

PGA Tour in 2024, at the Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles. He had to withdraw in the second round due to flu-like symptoms.

Longtime friend and college teammate Notah Begay also openly discussed Woods' health recently after the two spoke at the junior tournament Begay sponsors, and in which Woods' son, Charlie, participated.

“Touch on the greens, around the greens has always been a strength,” Malnati continued, “and that's something you need here. I think the course suits the game absolutely, like, perfectly. It's my first Masters. Rookies historically don't do awesome here. I go into it with – I go into it expecting to do my best and expecting that to give me a chance.”

Overly optimistic? Maybe not. When it comes to the Masters, Malnati has never lost even once. Heck, he hasn’t even made a bogey.
