College basketball fans witnessed a historic matchup between the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Kansas Jayhawks. The highly anticipated game lived up to its hype as Gonzaga dominated from start to finish, ultimately defeating Kansas with a final score of 89-68.

Gonzaga's impressive performance was led by their star player, Jalen Suggs, who showcased his exceptional skills on both ends of the court. Suggs' scoring ability combined with his defensive prowess proved to be too much for the Jayhawks to handle.

Gonzaga got whatever it wanted on offense, shooting 60% from the floor and 53% from three. Graduate forward Anton Watson led the way with 21 points, and junior guard Nolan Hickman added 17.

"[It was] disappointing today that there was absolutely no sign of being able to slow them down," head coach Bill Self said postgame.

Hunter Dickinson led Kansas with 15 points on 6-for-15 shooting. Harris tallied a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists.

The No. 5 Bulldogs sprinted away from No. 4 Kansas to start the second half on the way to an 89-68 win over the Jayhawks in the Midwest region. After Kansas led 44-43 at halftime, the Jayhawks took a four-point lead less than 30 seconds into the half.

From there, Gonzaga dominated. The Zags outscored Kansas 37-6 until the six-minute mark in a flurry that included a 14-0 run and a 13-0 run.

Kansas was gassed, facing an early start after an emotional, close victory over Samford late Thursday night. Coach Bill Self said he knew he was in trouble when he turned to his bench partway through the game, looking to make a substitution.   The tired legs played into a painfully familiar scene for fans of the fourth-seeded Jayhawks (23-11). They have struggled with depth, shooting, consistency and injuries; leading scorer Kevin McCullar Jr. (knee) was out for the tournament. During Gonzaga's 15-0 run, the Jayhawks missed 10 straight shots.

With Nembhard controlling the throttle, the Zags had two of their best offensive showings of the year in Salt Lake City. He'll now lead them when they play in the round of 16 in Detroit next Friday, where they will play the winner of 1-seed Purdue and 8-seed Utah State. The time and broadcast details will be announced after all the second-round NCAA Tournament games are complete.
