Photo by Chris Stone A 62-year-old motorist was killed over the weekend in a head-on collision on a rural road near San Vicente Reservoir, authorities reported Monday. The man was headed north in a 2002 Volkswagen sedan on Wildcat Canyon Road in Lakeside shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday when an oncoming 2003 Ford pickup truck veered directly into his path north of Muth Valley Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. The resulting crash sent the Volkswagen off the east side of the roadway and caused the truck to overturn, CHP public-affairs Officer Jared Grieshaber said.
