Olympia competitor Neil Currey is dead at the age of 34.
Milos Sarcev, Currey’s former trainer, announced the news Monday on Instagram, calling it “absolutely shocking” and “heartbreaking.”
The cause of death is unclear, although initials reports claimed Sarcev’s Instagram post indicated Currey died by suicide.
However, Sarcev’s initial Instagram post has been edited and makes no mention of suicide.

Currey began his career as a bodybuilder when he first started competing in 2017. Two years later, he made his IFBB debut in the Classic Physique competition, going on to compete all around the world.
New York Pro, qualifying him for the Mr. Olympia competition. The event occurred late last year, with Currey finishing 16th, but just making it to the Mr. Olympia competition is seen as a major accomplishment in the industry.
No statement has been released from Currey's family regarding his passing, and no indication has been given to a cause of death.
There has been an outpouring of sadness after the news was revealed on social media, with many flocking to social media sites to offer their condolences and remember Currey.
Prominent bodybuilding news site RX Muscle posted a message to Instagram: 'Stunned and beyond saddened by the tragic news that Neil Currey has passed away at the young age of 34. We pass our most sincere and deepest condolences to Neil's family, friends, and to all of his fans around the world.'
The death of Currey comes just days after the passing of women's bodybuilding pioneer Lisa Lyon.
