Islamabad: Pakistan’s Gender Protection Unit (GPU) is cracking down on harassers and tormentors of women in Islamabad and Punjab. Based on a complaint, the GPU in Islamabad recently registered a case against her husband, who according to the complainant, tortured and forced her to beg. A medical report showed the woman had injuries on her nose and other parts of her body and her head was also shaven. In the First Information Report (FIR), the woman claimed her husband also cut her hair and beat her for trivial issues and she could no longer take it.
