Last night Saturday Night Live cast member Jeremy Culhane performed a truly ruthless impression of Tesla co-founder Elon Musk on Weekend Update, and at least one member of the Trump White House is not amused.
“SNL is literally the antithesis of comedy and satire. It takes weak men to take cheap shots — especially about @elonmusk’s kids,” wrote right-wing influencer Katie Miller. “Elon is a devoted dad who prioritizes time with his kids and it’s obvious they absolutely adore him.”
The joke she referred to came near the end of Culhane’s segment, in which he had Grok say about Musk, “Maybe if you have 100 more kids, one of them will talk to you.”
The line seemed to be partially referencing Musk’s trans daughter Vivian Wilson, who has publicly accused Musk of being a cruel and absent father. It also called attention to how Musk has fathered over a dozen children with four different women; one of the women, Ashley St. Clair, has criticized Musk on social media after seeing “how willing he is to lie publicly and privately.”
Katie Miller’s post continued about the SNL sketch, “This is just a political hit job masquerading under the banner of comedy. Make comedy actually funny again.”
Miller is a right-wing influencer, as well as the wife of Trump’s new chief of staff Stephen Miller.
Stephen Miller oversaw Trump’s mass immigration crackdown throughout his second term. He has supported a zero-tolerance family separation policy, has escalated domestic immigration raids, and slandered Minneapolis nurse Alex Pretti as a “domestic terrorist” after federal agents fatally shot him in broad daylight. Miller also wants to end birthright citizenship in the United States, a move many critics describe as radical and dangerous.

As of Sunday morning Musk himself has not addressed SNL’s portrayal of him. Musk hosted SNL in 2021, although in recent years the show has grown increasingly hostile towards him. Before Culhane, Musk was portrayed on the show by SNL icon Dana Carvey and Mike Myers, who portrayed the tech billionaire as similarly awkward and off-putting.
Instead, Musk this morning has criticized comedian Dave Chappelle — a recurring host of SNL — for apparently making light of right-wing podcaster Charlie Kirk’s 2025 assassination in his recent stand-up.
“Shame, shame, shame on Chappelle,” Musk posted on X.
