Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle Snr, has been arrested by the FBI over alleged possession of child sexual abuse material, reports claim.
The 82-year-old was arrested at his senior care home in Lakeland, Florida, after indecent materials were discovered at locations connected to Markle in the Philippines and Mexico over the past few weeks, the Daily Mail reports.
It comes after a child abuse police probe into Meghan’s father was widened to include her half-brother.
Thomas Snr is alleged to have kept a collection of indecent images of children at his former home in the Philippines. The images were allegedly discovered and reported to local police and the FBI by his son.
But the Philippines’ interior and local government secretary Jonvic Remulla told a press conference in Manila earlier this week that Thomas Markle Jnr was now a “person of interest” in the case but is not being treated as a suspect.
