The Blackhawks are headed on a tough (brutal) three-game road trip to Florida, Tampa and Carolina. And they’ll start the trip without Patrick Kane for at least the first two games based on comments from head coach Jeff Blashill. Which means they need another forward for the trip.
On Tuesday, the Blackhawks recalled forward Dillon Boucher has been recalled from the Rockford IceHogs. Defenseman Bowen Byram (upper body) has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 15.
Boucher, 29, has zero points and 13 penalty minutes in seven games with the IceHogs thus far this season. He showed quite well in the preseason games, however. He has yet to play in an NHL game in his career.
