With just one day to go before Election Day, Tom analyzes the polls and early-voting data to try to predict Tuesday’s outcome. He’s expecting it to be a very good night for Democrats, though just how good remains up in the air: Democrats are likely to win a “robust” majority in the U.S. House; they stand a good chance of reclaiming control of the U.S. Senate (possibly even with room to spare); and in North Carolina – though this may still be a stretch goal – Democrats even have a shot to overcome heavy Republican gerrymandering and regain control of at least one house in the General Assembly. (When will we know for sure? Tom says we could have a pretty good idea early on: initial returns from Kentucky and Indiana after 6 p.m. will give us a first look at final election results, followed by Virginia not long after.)
Oh, and about that Michigan Senate race? Tom says he’s not convinced Haley Stevens’ last-second flip will have much of an impact, though we’ll all find out together Tuesday night.
