Wu-Tang Clan Is Headlining the Detroit Lions’ Thanksgiving Halftime Show — and Eminem Is Behind It

The Detroit Lions are bringing some serious hip-hop history to Thanksgiving Day.

The team announced on Sunday, November 1, that Wu-Tang Clan will headline the Thanksgiving Day Classic Halftime Show powered by Verizon on Thursday, Nov. 26, when the Lions take on the Chicago Bears at Ford Field in Detroit.

The performance will be part of the Lions’ 87th annual Thanksgiving Day game, which is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET and will be nationally televised on CBS.

The announcement also marks the second year of a multi-year partnership with Detroit native Eminem and his longtime manager, Paul Rosenberg, who serve as executive producers of the halftime show and help select the performers.

“We often like to do things that are both exciting and unexpected. A Wu-Tang Clan Thanksgiving performance in Detroit certainly fits that description!” Rosenberg said in a release shared with Parade. “Both Eminem and myself have been Wu fans since the early ’90s along with a whole generation of Detroit football fans, and we are honored to bring them to this year’s stage.”

Wu-Tang Clan, which originated in Staten Island, New York, in the early 1990s, is one of hip-hop’s most influential groups. The collective includes RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck and Cappadonna, along with the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

Since releasing its debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), in 1993, the group has released eight studio albums, three of which achieved quadruple-platinum status. Its influence has also extended beyond music, with members building careers in film, television, fashion and publishing.

The Thanksgiving performance comes as the group wraps its global farewell tour, Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber, and prepares for its induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class.

The Lions also announced that actor and recording artist Antonio Cipriano will perform the national anthem before the game. The Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, native currently stars as John Logan in Amazon Prime Video’s hit series Off Campus and previously appeared on Broadway in Jagged Little Pill.
