A bitter legal dispute over the estate of late American Pickers star Frank Fritz is heading to court, roughly two years after his death.
Fritz’s father, Bill Fritz, and three of the reality star’s friends are expected to face off in an Iowa jury trial in November after failing to reach an agreement during mediation, Page Six reported on Oct. 20. The case centers on Fritz’s will and an estate estimated to be worth approximately $6 million.
“There was no resolution,” a source familiar with the proceedings told Page Six of the failed mediation. “Bill Fritz wants everything.”

Annette Oberlander Willows, one of the friends involved in the dispute who was by Fritz’s side when he died in September 2024, maintains that the late collector had made his wishes clear.
“I have always done right by Frank. I was loyal to him throughout our entire friendship,” she told the outlet. “Frank did not wish for his dad to have anything of his!”
What Happened to Frank Fritz’s Estate?
Fritz signed a will in October 2023, roughly a year after suffering a debilitating stroke that left him partially paralyzed. An Iowa judge approved the estate arrangements weeks after his death at age 60.
His father challenged the will in February 2025, arguing that the document was invalid. Bill alleged that his son’s health had left him unable to make important financial decisions and questioned whether the will was genuine.

In comments to The U.S. Sun last year, Bill called the document “fake” and said he believed he would prevail in court. He also claimed he had been close to his son.
Fritz’s friends and former caregivers have disputed that account. One friend previously told the Des Moines Register that Fritz remained mentally capable of making his own decisions when he signed the document.
The probate case has been sealed, limiting public access to the will and other court filings. Bill and his attorney did not respond to Page Six’s latest request for comment.
A Collection Worth Millions
Fritz’s estimated $6 million estate reportedly includes his extensive collection of antiques and motorcycles, earnings from American Pickers and an Iowa farmhouse valued at approximately $155,000.
Fans knew Fritz for more than a decade as Mike Wolfe’s co-star on the History Channel series, which followed the pair as they traveled the country searching for valuable antiques and collectibles. He appeared on the show from its 2010 debut until his departure in 2020.
Fritz died on Sept. 30, 2024, following complications from a stroke. Wolfe, who had reconciled with his longtime friend before his death, was reportedly at his bedside.
Now, the question of what happens to Fritz’s belongings—and who will inherit his estate—will move into the courtroom.
