Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Noah Gibbs has announced his verbal commitment to stay in-state and swim at McKendree University, becoming the first commitment in the Bearcats’ class of 2031. He publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:

I am blessed, honored, and extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to McKendree University! I want to first give glory to God for giving me these talents and opportunities. A special thanks to my parents and my various club coaches for supporting me along the way, especially Coach Kirsty and Coach Jackson. Lastly, I want to thank Coach Jimmy and Coach Javens for giving me this amazing opportunity. Go Bearcats!

A high school senior, Gibbs does his year-round training with Seahawks Aquatic Club in O’Fallon, Illinois, where he primarily specializes in butterfly, breaststroke, and IM. He is coming off a 2025-26 season that saw him drop over seven seconds in the 400 IM, roughly four and a half seconds in the 200 breast, exactly four seconds in the 200 fly, over three seconds in the 200 IM, and about two seconds in both the 100 breast and 100 fly.

Gibbs’ standout meets from this past season were Speedo Sectionals – Columbia in March and Seahawks Swim Club Intrasquad in July. At Sectionals, he swam personal bests of 52.80 in the 100 fly and 1:55.47 in the 200 fly, placing 16th in the ‘B’ final of the 200 fly, and added a 1:57.87 in the 200 IM to finish 28th in the ‘D’ final. He later swam 1:02.78 in the 100 breast, 2:14.89 in the 200 breast and 4:11.69 in the 400 IM at the Intrasquad.

    Top SCY Times:

    100 Butterfly: 52.80 200 Butterfly: 1:55.47 100 Breaststroke: 1:02.78 200 Breaststroke: 2:14.89 200 IM: 1:57.87 400 IM: 4:11.69

A Division II program, McKendree competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), with the men’s team placing third out of 10 teams in 2026 before going on to finish sixth at the NCAA D3 Championships. To score at the 2026 GLVC Championships, times of 50.24/1:53.44 were needed in the 100/200 fly, 57.98/2:08.33 in the 100/200 breast, and 1:51.70/4:05.65 in the 200/400 IM, putting Gibbs outside of the cutoffs, though he still has nearly two full seasons of training ahead before lining up at his first conference meet.
