The Tar Heels will be glad Tuesday night’s game doesn’t count. But it provided several worrying signs, nonetheless.
Charlotte led by as many as 15 points in the first half, then used a late run in the second half to erase a seven-point deficit to force overtime at the Smith Center. In the overtime, Carolina outscored the 49ers 11-4 to win 89-82.
Tuesday’s exhibition wraps up the preseason schedule for UNC. The Tar Heels will officially open the regular season when they host Western Carolina at the Smith Center Monday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
