Trisha Paytas is revisiting her complicated history with Ethan Klein in the midst of the drama surrounding the H3 podcast.
The two co-hosted Frenemies, which ended in 2021 after a public falling-out. Now, a new crisis involving Ethan and his wife, Hila, has brought their former partnership back into the conversation.
On the Tuesday, October 27 episode of her Just Trish podcast, Paytas said the hiatus made her feel relief, even though the circumstances behind it were painful. “I hate to say that I felt… like, I just kind of felt relief that maybe it’s over when he announced the podcast was over.” She added, “It just felt like relief, and that makes me really sad.”
What led to the latest Ethan Klein drama
The hiatus announcement came shortly before Hila accused Ethan of having an affair lasting more than six months and said they were separating on October 23. Ethan has said he is working to remove his ownership and financial interests from the podcast and related businesses, and asked the public to respect his family’s privacy.
Paytas said in her podcast that she had been hoping the conflict would end for years. “I’m ashamed to say that, because it’s an awful situation, the way that had to end. But I’ve been praying, truly, truly every day for the past five years for it just to end.”
Trisha Paytas’ connection to the Klein family
The situation is personal for Paytas because she is married to Moses Hacmon, Hila’s brother. She noted that the families have children around the same ages, adding, “I don’t feel that way about it, obviously, because it’s Moses’ family. We also have kids the same age. And obviously with Moses’ family, too, there’s just sensitivity involved, of course.”
Hacmon also appeared on Just Trish, saying he has been no contact with Hila for about five years. “Ethan to me is not part of the family anymore, so I can definitely talk about it,” he said, accusing Ethan of trying to damage his family. Hacmon also said he was affected by reading his sister’s statement.
Paytas has said she feels “pretty healed” from the Frenemies fallout, though tensions resurfaced in the past year. She is expected to discuss the experience in a memoir due in November.
