Three more kids who were recorded while undressing at a suburban banquet hall have been identified since police first announced their investigation into the incident earlier this week, authorities said on Friday.
Police said on Tuesday that Eleno Silva, a 57-year-old man from suburban Oswego, was charged with six felony counts of child pornography and three felony counts of child sexual abuse material after authorities uncovered images from videos he allegedly took of an underage girl while she undressed in a “designated changing area” at Martini Banquet Hall, located at 171 Saravanos Drive in Yorkville.
As of Friday, three additional victims were identified with the help of the media and members of the public, Yorkville police said.
“At this time, investigators have no evidence that there are additional victims beyond those identified to date,” police said.
Additional charges, if warranted, will not be made until the investigations into their cases are complete, authorities said.
Silva was arrested after an investigation prompted when images that “depicted underage females in various stages of undress and appeared to have been captured while the individuals were at the Yorkville business” were recovered from his cell phone by Montgomery police during an “unrelated investigation,” police said.
Yorkville police launched a subsequent investigation after they were notified about the images that led them to find multiple images on Silva’s “device” that that show an underage undressing to change her clothes and appear to be copied from surveillance video taken inside the banquet hall during multiple events throughout 2023.
While authorities did not specify what events the videos were taken at, Martini Banquet Hall advertises online as a space frequently rented for quinceañeras, weddings and other special events.
Silva is also the owner of Riverview Diner, located at 1420 S.E. River Rd. in Montgomery, though was not immediately known if the investigation by Montgomery police was related to the restaurant.
He surrendered himself to the Kendall County Jail on Monday after a warrant for his arrest was obtained by investigators. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 10.
