Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Isaiah Silver from Livermore, California, has made a verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Michigan beginning in 2028-29. He announced his decision on social media:
“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Michigan! I’d like to wholeheartedly thank my family, and friends for their unwavering love and support, with a special thank you to my Grandmother Diane for being my biggest fan both in and out of the pool, and to my Dad for raising and coaching me to be the best swimmer as well as person I can be. A huge thanks as well to Coach Matt, Coach Aaron, and the entire coaching staff at Michigan for their faith and support in giving me this opportunity. Excited for what’s ahead! GO BLUE!! ”
Silver is a junior at Granada High School. He does his year-round swimming with Livermore Aquacowboys, whose head coach is his father, Alex Silver, a former captain of the Cal men’s team. Silver is a 200/400 IM specialist whom we ranked #12 on our Way Too Early list of top boys’ swimming recruits from the high school class of 2028.
As a sophomore at the 2026 CIF North Coast Section Championships, Silver placed 2nd in the 200 IM with a PB of 1:47.16 and 3rd in the 100 free (45.11), before going on to the California State Championships a week later. There, he lowered his IM time to 1:46.86 in prelims and ultimately placed 4th with 1:47.24 in the final. He was 18th in the 100 free (46.34).
His best 100 free (44.74), as well as PBs in the 200 back (1:47.81), 100 breast (56.36), and 200 breast (2:01.30) come from Far Westerns in April. Two months before that, he had gone lifetime bests in the 50 free (21.32), 200 free (1:38.22), 500 free (4:32.10), 100 back (50.56), 200 fly (1:47.84), and 400 IM (3:48.95) at the Juanita Allington Memorial Meet.
Silver had a very strong 2026 long course season, wrapping at Summer Junior Nationals with PBs in the 200 free (1:54.67), 100 fly (55.91), 200 fly (2:03.77), 200 IM (2:04.51), and 400 IM (4:28.37). Year-over-year, he dropped 2 seconds in the 200 free, 6.3 in the 200 fly, 3.6 in the 200 IM, and 20.8 in the 400 IM.
#12 Silver will join the Wolverines’ class of 2032 with #11 Treyvn Krauss, #17 Max Garbacz, and “Best of the Rest” distance freestylers Leopold Nurit and Tyler Kominski.
