The 28-year-old provided some insight into her upcoming debut LP and aspirations in a handwritten diary entry, which she posted to her IG Story on Monday.
“I spent the last few years relearning Hip-Hop as a student. Studying its language, history & roots. Now I feel inspired to contribute to evolve it,” she wrote. “A mission is brewing inside of me (a responsibility really) to see black womanhood exist at the center of Hip-Hop AND Pop.”
Doechii’s 2024 mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal, reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and won best rap album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Earlier this year, the TDE rapper joined forces with pop supernova Lady Gaga for the house-pop “Runway,” which landed on The Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack and notched Doechii a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 50 peak).
