Young Delhi opener Sanat Sangwan has opened up about his unforgettable experience of playing alongside Virat Kohli in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy. Virat Kohli had joined Delhi for their match against Railways in early 2025, and his presence had created huge excitement among the players and fans.
It was a dream come true moment for Sangwan to share the dressing room and build a partnership with his childhood idol. The match also turned out to be Virat Kohli's last first-class appearance, as he retired from Test cricket later in 2025. Presently, Sanat Sangwan is playing for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 opener against Bengal in Kalyani. Delhi bowled out for 240 in the first innings, and he managed only 4 runs.
After the stumps on Day 1 in Kalyani, Sangwan recalled that Kohli brought a special energy to the team and hailed him for giving equal importance to every match despite winning so many Test matches for India and winning the Ranji Trophy.
Sanat Sangwan was quoted as saying by Revsportz, "When Virat Kohli joined the camp, there was a different energy. He was our idol and had won so many matches for India. It was an unreal experience for us. His work ethic was incredible.”
