Dancing With the Stars’ Emma Slater is taking care of her ballroom pro boyfriend, Alan Bersten, after his partner, Giada De Laurentiis, was the third celebrity to be eliminated from season 35.
Slater, 37, took to Instagram on Wednesday, September 23, to share how she’s been supporting Bersten, 32, after he and De Laurentiis, 56, were sent packing on Tuesday, September 22.
In the clip, Bersten walked up to Slater and grabbed her hand to kiss it. He then mouthed, “I love you.” Slater flipped the camera to show them with their arms around each other. She looked up at her man and they embraced each other for a kiss.

“I’m so sad but thankful you can lean on each other.❤️?,” one gushed. Another added, “Emma it’s too early I cannot cry right now plz.” A third follower commented, “?? So proud. They did amazing… underscored. I know they both worked so hard and I was rooting for them to stay longer.”
Bersten and the Food Network star were eliminated after receiving a 12 out of 30 on their Salsa to “Chula” by Becky G during the second week of Dancing With the Stars, themed Viral Hits Night.

De Laurentiis also commented on the matter after hearing they were being sent home, telling the audience, “I tried my best and it wasn’t best enough. But I tried my best.”
After the first week of DWTS, De Laurentiis exclusively opened up to Us about why she got emotional after performing.
“I think it’s the scores, but I think it’s also just, like, all the anxiety and the self-doubt and all that stuff that kind of comes up, you know,” she told Us. “There’s, like, beautiful young girls that you’re dancing alongside. It’s just a weird feeling that you get, and I think it overtook me. I felt like a volcano exploded, and I was trying desperately to hold it in.”
De Laurentiis also shared that Bersten was encouraging her to “let it out” earlier in the day.
She explained, “I was like, ‘I don’t know. I want to, but there’s so many things to think about — makeup, and this and that and … tonight after the dance, I was like, ‘I can’t hold it anymore.’”
