Junior Nationals qualifier Sylvia Deliduka has announced her verbal commitment* to swim and study at Brown University beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I’d like to thank my family and friends for their unwavering support and for helping me achieve my goals in and out of the pool. A huge thank you to New Trier Aquatics including Coach Steve, Coach Jeremy, Coach Joe, and Coach Michael. I also want to thank Coach Mac, Kenney, and Mike from NTGSD and Coach Mike and Coach Craig from MYST. Lastly, a special thank you to Coach Mitch, Coach Lauren, and the entire Brown coaching staff for this amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to be a part of the Brown Swim & Dive family! GO BRUNO!!
A rising senior at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, Deliduka has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming team since her freshman year. She also trains year-round with New Trier Aquatics, where she primarily specializes in sprint and middle-distance freestyle.
Deliduka is coming off a 2025-26 season that saw her drop over 2.5 seconds in the 200 free, just over a second in the 100 free, and nearly three-quarters of a second in the 50 free.
On the high school scene, Deliduka helped New Trier High School finish third in the 200 free relay (22.83 anchor) and sixth in the 400 free relay (50.30 anchor) at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Championships in November, as well as seventh in the 100 free (50.60 – current PB) and 200 free (1:50.78 – then PB). Her other standout meet of the season came at the NCSA Spring Championships in March, where she placed 13th in the 200 free (1:49.46 – current PB), 20th in the 100 free (50.99), and 21st in the 50 free (23.46).
Deliduka holds Summer Juniors (LCM) cuts in the 50 and 100 free, and a Winter Juniors (SCY) standard in the 50 free.

Deliduka’s current career best in the 200 free would have qualified for the ‘B’ final, while her PBs in the 50 and 100 free would have been quick enough to make the ‘C’ finals, setting her up to be an immediate contributor with two full seasons of training still ahead before she lines up at her first conference meet.
Deliduka joins Emma Sloan, Sunny Kang, Caroline Rogers, Annri Katoh, and Hannah Oh in committing to the Bears’ class of 2031 so far.
*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.
