Helena Reis of São Paulo, Brazil has announced her verbal commitment to continue her academic and swimming career at Drexel University beginning in fall 2027.

Reis swims for Esporte Clube Pinheiros in Brazil and most recenltly swam at Jose Finkel at the start of September. There she was 13th in the SCM 200 back (2:17.71) and 16th in the 200 free (2:04.52). She also swam in prelims of the 400 free, 100 back, 100 IM, and 200 IM.
Reis’s Best SCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
200 back: 2:15.76 (2:00.11) 200 free: 2:03.93 (1:51.64) 400/500 free: 4:24.66 (5:02.46)The Drexel women finished 5th out of eight teams at the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association Championships with 918 points, finishing just behind Northeastern’s 980 points. Brittany Corbett led the way for Drexel with 84 individual points including wins in the 500 and 1650 freestyles.
Based on her best converted times, Reis already has the potential to make an immediate impact at the conference level. Her best time in the 200 back would have been on the border of the ‘A’ and ‘B’ final. Her 200 free would have made the ‘B’ final while her 500 free would have made the ‘C’ final. Mary Kubiak was the team’s highest finisher in the 200 back with a 2:01.48 for 11th.
Reis will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2031 along with Maddie Inman, Emily Black-Wright, and Sadie Hogan.
