For the first slip position, Cheteshwar Pujara picked 'The Wall' Rahul Dravid; for the second slip position, he named another former India captain, Virat Kohli; and for the third slip position, Pujara opted to pick Australian cricket star Steve Smith. "Well, that's a tough one. Because I've felt it for such a long time at short leg and I've taken some good catches, I would put myself somewhere there. Rather than looking somewhere else, I'll put myself at the front," Cheteshwar Pujara replied to the question, "Okay, would you have a short leg and who would it be?"

During his days with the India national cricket team as an active cricketer, Pujara used to have a safe pair of hands. There were not many instances where Pujara dropped catches. According to the stats, across 103 Test matches for the national side, he claimed 66 catches as a fielder.
He used to be a good fielder in domestic cricket as well. The Saurashtra-born player bagged 160 catches in his First-Class career while he pouched 47 and 37 catches in List A and Twenty20 formats, respectively. Currently, Pujara, who was positioned as the successor of Rahul Dravid in the Whites because of his technical batting skills, is working as a commentator and cricket expert.
During his career with the national team, he played alongside Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli was then the captain of the team in the format.
