BROCKPORT, N.Y. — More than 2,000 freshman and transfer students moved into their dorms at SUNY Brockport Friday.

The newest class of Golden Eagles is settling into campus as the college prepares for the start of the semester. News10NBC caught up with one new student, Bella Moore, who is ready for college life.

“Just starting new classes and getting into things that I’m interested in learning about, I’m really excited to meet a lot of new people from different communities and groups and getting involved on campus,” Moore said.

Overall enrollment is expected to reach about 8,100. The college says strong recruitment and retention are driving the highest numbers since 2018.

Classes begin Monday. Classes at Nazareth University and Monroe Community College also start Monday. New students at Nazareth and MCC moved in Thursday.
