BRIGHTON, N.Y. — McQuaid Jesuit’s 25 Hour Relay is underway, raising money for the Ronald McDonald House and bringing the community together.
The relay began Thursday morning at the Robert Bradley Track and will continue nonstop until Friday at 10 a.m. Members of the McQuaid cross country team are camping out to keep the baton moving throughout the night.
For many, the event is about more than just running.
“We all volunteer and help to give back to our community a lot. I’ve chosen the Ronald McDonald house, I’ve helped there before, and I thought that being a runner this would be a great way to combine our skills as running and our willingness to help the community and to raise funds,” said Thomas Steele, who’s the captain and relay organizer.
The event is open to the entire Rochester community. If you want to take part, stop by the track on Clinton Avenue in Brighton and help the runners carry the baton for a lap or more.
