RTÉ has confirmed that Kin, its acclaimed Dublin crime drama starring Charlie Cox, will return for a third season in 2027 – and has released a first-look image alongside the announcement.
The series follows the Kinsellas, a Dublin family who become embroiled in a bloody gangland feud, and has drawn a loyal audience on both sides of the Irish Sea since its 2021 debut, with the BBC acquiring earlier seasons.
Daredevil: Born Again star Cox will reprise his leading role as Michael Kinsella, the reluctant patriarch drawn deeper into the family's criminal empire.
RTÉ's official synopsis reads: "In the third season, as the Kinsellas consolidate power, buried betrayals and festering rivalries turn inward, and the greatest threat to the family empire becomes the family itself".
The Marvel icon isn't the only familiar face returning to the Kin cast, as fans can also expect more from Clare Dunne as Amanda, Emmett J Scanlan as Jimmy, Maria Doyle Kennedy as Birdy, Sam Keeley as Viking, Yasmin Seky as Nikita and Mark McKenna Jr as Anthony.
Jack Meade is also back as Wayne Madigan, with Öykü Karayel returning as Nuray Batuk. New additions include Alex Deegan (Flora and Son) as Shelley Dunne and Diyar Bozkurt (Legends) as Aslan Batuk.
Production is currently under way on the next set of episodes. Kin was created by Peter McKenna and Ciaran Donnelly, with the former serving as showrunner.
RTÉ has yet to confirm a precise premiere date beyond the 2027 window, but we'll bring you further updates on its timeline as they come.
It's an exciting time for Cox and his fans, with the third season of Daredevil: Born Again also expected early next year, with set photos indicating a fully fledged reunion for the key Marvel characters of The Defenders era.
Kin is coming soon to BBC iPlayer. Seasons 1-2 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
