VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Omar Romo of Oxnard was convicted of the June 2023 murder of Oscar Ramirez while he was on parole for robbery.
Romo was found guilty of murder, assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and possession of a firearm by a felon as well as multiple special allegations including that he had a prior strike offense conviction stated the Ventura County District Attorney's Office in a press release Tuesday.
On July 12, 2023, Romo drove to an alley on Cooper Road in Oxnard where he shot Oscar Ramirez three times before fleeing the scene in his vehicle noted the local prosecutor's office.

"Oscar Rodriguez lost his life to senseless street violence," shared Senior Deputy District Attorney Hayley Moyer, who prosecuted the case. "There is no place for using a firearm to resolve conflicts and this conviction holds the defendant accountable for that choice."
