California Highway Patrol officers in Northern California issued a warning over the weekend after pills resembling children's vitamins and candy were found to have drugs.

According to the agency's Trinity River office, the pills were recently found in Trinity County, a rural and mountainous county in the northwestern part of the state. Testing determined that the pills contained methamphetamine.

    Photos shared by the agency showed pills in several colors, with some of them appearing to look like Minions from the "Despicable Me" movies. Other pills appeared to have the Bitcoin symbol.

    "Parents and caregivers, please remind children never to eat unfamiliar candy, gummies, vitamins, or pills, and keep all medications and other substances secured and out of reach," the agency said in a statement Saturday. "If you discover a suspicious substance, keep children and pets away and contact local law enforcement."

    Officers did not provide additional details about when and where the pills were found.
