Veteran Indian leg-spinner Karn Sharma has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, bringing an end to a career spanning more than 15 years. The leg-spinner played one Test, two ODIs, and one T20I for India. Karn Sharma played one Test, two ODIs, and one T20I for India between 2014 and 2017. He made his Test debut against Australia in Adelaide and played his limited-overs matches against Sri Lanka and England.
Sharma finished with 90 first-class matches, 2,734 runs and 281 wickets, including two centuries, 16 fifties and best bowling figures of 8/38. He also took 13 wickets in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season.
In IPL, he played 90 matches and took 83 wickets for teams including Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He won four IPL titles: one with Sunrisers Hyderabad, one with Mumbai Indians and two with Chennai Super Kings.
Sharma last played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians in 2025, taking seven wickets in six matches. He continued playing domestic T20 cricket, including the UP T20 League for Kanpur Superstars, before announcing his retirement.
