Peak Design’s Field Bracket Kickstarter campaign has surpassed $600,000 in funding, with photographers and creators having just one more day to back the company’s latest camera accessory at its Kickstarter pricing.
Peak Design’s latest Kickstarter campaign is entering its final hours, and the response has been substantial. The Field Bracket campaign has now passed the $600,000 funding milestone and has attracted thousands of backers since launching in July.
With just one day remaining, interested photographers and camera enthusiasts have a limited amount of time to participate in the campaign before it comes to an end.
A Modular Take on the Traditional L-Bracket
The Field Bracket is designed as a camera-specific, modular L-bracket system for a range of popular mirrorless cameras. Unlike a traditional L-bracket, Peak Design designed the Field Bracket to provide additional functionality beyond simply allowing photographers to switch between landscape and portrait orientations.
The system features a removable and adjustable vertical upright that can be repositioned or removed without tools. This allows photographers to accommodate camera screens, tethering cables and different shooting configurations.
The Field Bracket can also work with Peak Design’s existing camera accessories, including its Capture Clip and camera straps. Optional accessories expand its capabilities further, including a Cheese Plate designed for more advanced camera rigs and new Hand Strap and Finger Strap options.
Built-In Tracking
One of the more notable additions to the Field Bracket system is the optional Beacon Finder Tag. The tracker is designed specifically to fit within the Field Bracket’s geometry rather than requiring an external tracking accessory.
The Beacon Finder Tag works with both Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find Hub network. It features an IP67 rating and uses a replaceable CR2025 battery with an estimated six-month continuous-use lifespan.
This gives photographers another way to keep track of expensive camera equipment without adding a bulky external tracker to the camera.
Designed for Specific Camera Models
Peak Design is offering camera-specific Field Bracket models for a variety of mirrorless cameras. The current compatibility lineup includes select Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm and Leica models, including cameras such as the Sony A7R V, Sony A1 II, Canon R5/R6 series, Nikon Z8, Fujifilm X100VI, Fujifilm X-T5 and Leica Q3.
The brackets are constructed from 100% recycled 6061-T6 aluminum, along with stainless steel hardware and other materials. Peak Design says the Field Bracket and its accessories are weatherproof and backed by its lifetime warranty.
Kickstarter Campaign Enters Its Final Day
The Field Bracket represents Peak Design’s 17th Kickstarter campaign, continuing the company’s long-standing relationship with crowdfunding. The campaign has now exceeded $600,000 in funding and has attracted thousands of backers.
The Kickstarter campaign offers the Field Bracket at a discounted price compared with its planned retail pricing. The base Field Bracket is being offered to Kickstarter backers for $125, while the planned retail price is $149.95.
Peak Design currently expects to begin fulfilling Kickstarter rewards following the campaign, with fulfillment surveys expected to be sent approximately two to six weeks after the campaign ends. The company currently estimates September for those surveys.
The Kickstarter campaign is scheduled to end August 21 at 12:00 a.m. PDT, leaving just one day for anyone interested in backing the project.
Last Chance to Back the Peak Design Field Bracket
With more than $600,000 already raised, the Field Bracket campaign is heading into its final stretch with strong support from the photography community.
Those interested in getting the Field Bracket at its Kickstarter pricing will need to back the project before the campaign ends.
