It's almost time to bid farewell to the residents of Shieldinch, with the final episode of River City airing at the end of the month.
BBC Scotland has released first-look imagery of the explosive final episode, ahead of it airing in the country at 9pm and nationwide on BBC iPlayer on Monday 31 August.
The final scenes were filmed on the set in April, after the broadcaster announced the show’s cancellation in March last year due to declining viewing figures.
It was reported last month that the demolition of the show's backlot set in Dumbarton would cost £489,000 after the land was sold to developers for over £2m.
With the environs of Montego Street now gone, pictures of characters Lenny Murdoch (Frank Gallagher) and Bob O'Hara (Stephen Purdon) from the hour-long special have been unveiled.
Lenny can be seen injured and bloody following an intense showdown with Harry Foulkes (Jim Sturgeon), stood amongst a sea of flames and an overturned car, while Bob can be seen looking saddened as he strolls past his aunt Scarlett's shop.
It's also been teased that "love and marriage is key for some residents", and that there's a new beginning at The Tall Ship pub.
The last instalment will be followed by a one-off documentary, River City: The Last Take, which will follow cast and crew as the production wraps, as well as reuniting the cast to celebrate the drama of the last two decades.
It will also provide fans with a chance to relive some of the serial's finest moments.
Purdon, Sally Howitt, Frank Gallagher, Jacqueline Leonard, Jordan Young, Carmen Pieraccini, Grant Stott and Gayle Telfer Stevens are among the cast who will feature and share behind the scenes secrets.
River City is available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The last ever episode will air on BBC Scotland at 9pm on Monday 31 August, followed by River City: The Last Take at 10pm.
