Idris Nazir's (Junade Khan) true colours have been revealed in Coronation Street.
We've already seen his darker side before, but in today's (19 August) episode, he reached new heights.
Desperate to get his hands on the family restaurant, Speed Daal, Idris asked chef Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) to join in his secret, after-hours poker game – knowing that he had history of winning.
His involvement came with a promise that he'd also get a slice of the profits, and an assurance that the odds would be in his favour.
Idris's niece Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) had already handed him the restaurant keys, following the promise that the money she was owed in exchange for the business would be paid back imminently.
As Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) prepped the eatery for the poker evening, she overheard Idris briefing Ollie on what was expected of him. Concerned about the consequences, she warned him that he would face serious repercussions if anyone discovered he was cheating.
Copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) had learned about the event from son Brody and convinced a hesitant Idris to allow him to play. One of the other participants, crooked Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer), then pushed for the stakes to be doubled.
Once the game got under way, Idris kept a close eye on proceedings, while Brody secretly helped himself to shots behind the bar. As the evening progressed, players dropped out one after another until only Fiona and Ollie remained.
Ollie ultimately emerged as the clear winner, leaving Fiona furious and Idris visibly relieved.
Later, when oblivious Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) found Idris and Brody busy clearing everything away, she questioned what they'd been up to and the teen slipped up.
Furious that her premises had been used for gambling, Leanne stormed out and made it clear that she wasn't in a forgiving mood.
Idris then rounded on Brody, slapping him across the face. He warned that, if he crossed him again, there would be serious consequences.
Should Brody be worried?
