Beautiful mid August weather graced the entire region with very warm temperatures inland and much milder readings along the coast. Winds are a bit gusty in some areas and we could see a Wind Advisory posted for areas near the Gaviota region. Look for overnight lows to mostly dip in to the 60's and 50's. Patchy fog will linger near the coast and try to push inland through early Monday morning and it could be dense for some areas.
Looking ahead, a gradual increase in high pressure is expected as we head back to work and school. Monday should see a few areas start to creep in to the mid and even upper 90's with further warming through the work week. Heat advisories are back in play for our warmest valleys through at least mid week as low one hundred degree readings are expected. Fog will stay in play for the immediate coastline and should follow the usual late Summer routine of burning off by late morning for most beaches. Winds from the north an northwest could create heightened fire concerns for all areas, especially below passes and canyons near the Gaviota region from Monday night through most of next week.
