Pluribus creator Vince Gilligan has given fans a major update on the sci-fi series starring Better Call Saul’s Rhea Seehorn.
The show, which follows Seehorn’s character Carol as she is suddenly forced to navigate a world where almost every other human has been infected with a virus that gives them a collective consciousness, premiered last November to rave reviews from many viewers and critics.
Speaking on a new podcast with Deadline, Gilligan confirmed that season 2 has been written and will begin filming “in a couple months”.
However, even with production set to kick off soon, viewers could still be facing a substantial wait for new episodes given season 1’s production timeline, which began filming in February 2024 and didn't premiere until 7 November, 2025.
Gilligan revealed back in March that season 2 "is not going quite as fast as I would hope" in an interview with Polygon, adding that he and his team are "hoping there's lots more excitement and twists and turns".
While he didn't unveil any specific plot details, he added to the publication: "We're looking forward to spending more time with some characters that we've met and didn't get to spend a whole lot of time with.
He added: "I'd love to see more of Mr Diabaté, for instance, and seeing more of Zosia [Karolina Wydra] and Manousos [Carlos Manuel Vesga] is always going to be a treat for us and for the audience.
"And of course, Carol remains front and center in our show, played by the great Rhea Seehorn."
