WARREN TOWNSHIP — William Blair, 49, of Leavittsburg was pronounced deceased at the scene of a 9:10 p.m. Tuesday accident on Tod Avenue (state Route 45) near Eighth Street involving Blair losing control of the e-bike he was riding and falling off the bike, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported in a 3:54 a.m. news release from the Patrol’s Southington post.

A 2021 Ford F-150 operated by Benjamin Woodyard, 45, of Warren, was traveling north on Tod Avenue when it struck Blair, the release states. Woodyard applied the brakes heavily and was struck from behind by a 2015 Dodge Charger operated by David Vrabel, 33, of Girard. Vrabel also struck Blair.

    The release state that it was “determined that Blair had been traveling northbound on Tod Avenue on a Condor electronic bicycle when he lost control and fell off the bike. The e-bike fell and came to rest in the left lane as Blair came to rest in the right lane prior to being struck by the F-150.”

    The release states that it was undetermined how long Blair was in the road prior to being struck.

    Alcohol is suspected of being a factor related to Blair, the release states. The crash remains under investigation. Assisting agencies at the scene included the Warren Township Police Department, the Trumbull County Coroner’s Office, Warren Township Fire and EMS and Underwood’s Towing.
