For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Casey Kupka has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Indiana University of Pennsylvania beginning in fall 2026.
“I am very excited to announce my commitment to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania to continue my academic and swimming journey. There are literally countless people who have made it possible for me to be here. I would like to thank my mom, dad, twin brother (Dakota) and grandparents. They provide food, transportation and (most importantly) love and encouragement. I would like to thank my coaches (especially Ty Parker) who taught me technique, grit and sportsmanship. Additionally, I would like to thank my teammates past and present who made swimming so much fun. I know that I will be friends with some of them for the rest of my life. I would like to thank the local business owners who gave of their time and treasure to support me as a hometown athlete. I would like to thank my college coaches, Chris Villa and Adam Stoner for giving me the opportunity to swim at IUP. Most importantly I would like to thank God. Through Him all is possible. Go Crimson Hawks!!!”
Kupka swims for Greater Kalamazoo Crocs at the club level and most recently competed at Michigan’s Summer Ultra Meet, the state level meet. There Kupka was highlighted by a 1:59.65 LCM 200 free while leading off the team’s 800 free relay. He swam to a state title in the 200 breast, touching in a season best 2:24.06.
He finished his short course season at the MCSA Senior Cup at the start of March where he swam to lifetime bests in the 200 breast (2:05.03), 500 free (4:38.47), and 200 free (1:42.97). Back in December, he was 50th in the 1650 free with a 16:04.44 at Winter Juniors and also swam a lifetime best 9:35.60 1000 free for 54th.
Kupka told SwimSwam some of his favorite memories in the sport so far include having outdoor swim practices during the winter during COVID-19. After practice, his hair would freeze before getting to the car. He said his mom would have the hot chocolate waiting.
Kupka’s Best SCY Times Are:
200 free: 1:42.97 500 free: 4:38.47 1000 free: 9:35.60 1650 free: 16:04.44The Indiana University of Pennsylvania men finished 5th out of eight teams at the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships.
