Gugu Mbatha-Raw leads the cast of new five-part supernatural thriller, Possession, which unfolds across both the UK and Jamaica.
When Claudia (Mbatha-Raw) is asked to take over an inheritance claim case by her law firm, she's not only set to take the work trip of a lifetime – but is also forced to face issues relating to her own identity and also, Jamaica's colonial past.
It tracks then that the series would be shot on location in the beautifully lush country, with Jamaica's rolling hills and busy Kingston streets forming much of the magic of the drama.

Possession was filmed in the UK and in Jamaica.
As we know, Claudia was born and bred in Bristol, being raised by her father (Sean Gilder) with no real knowledge of her Jamaican ancestry after the death of her mother when she was young. As we see in the series, Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge features in those UK shots and the city's Bottle Yard Studios were used for a lot of Possession's internal shots.
In terms of the scenes filmed in Jamaica, many were filmed at Annandale Great House, which doubles as the fictional Hope Hill in Possession. The 18th century plantation house boasts more than 600 acres of land, which were used as a plantation during the transatlantic slave trade. The house can be found in the St Ann parish of Jamaica.
Speaking about the importance of having such a house as a focal point for the series, production designer Christina Moore said: "The plantation house of Hope Hill is a very important character in the story. That was a big attraction for me as a designer – to have a building at the heart of the drama which changes along with it."
On having to adapt the house for the show's dual timelines, Moore continued: "The house we found was quite neglected, so we had to make it look newly built for the 1760s. We reconstructed the veranda, which had been lost in a hurricane sometime ago, and added exterior wooden shutters.
"We stripped back the whitewashing of the walls to restore the stone and give the façade a darker character. We also had to work on relandscaping the exterior to lose the modern driveway and to enhance the tropical planting around the house."
Forming the clearing of Hope Hill is Hope Botanical Gardens in Kingston whilst Tulloch Estate in St Catherine also provided shots for Hope Hill's sugar cane fields, drive and gate shots.
There were plenty of scenes shot in and around Kingston including at the capital's Cross Roads Market, Temple Lane (which was the backdrop for the Junkanoo Festival) and ROK hotel is where Claudia is residing.
The stunning Laughing Waters beach in St Ann is also the location used for beach scenes in both timelines.
