A shelter-in-place order was issued for part of a southwest suburb on Tuesday as several police agencies investigated in the area, authorities said.

Around 3 p.m., Will County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 13200 block of Maverick Trail in Homer Glen to assist several police agencies with a person who had barricaded themself inside a house on the block, authorities said.

“Residents living on Maverick Trail need to shelter in place,” Will County Sheriff’s Office said in a post on social media.

Police blocked off Maverick Trail at Woodland and Parker and advised people “please do not enter.”

Aerial video of the scene captured by NBC Chicago Sky 5 showed several agencies investigating on the block.

The incident unfolded shortly after a report of a possible home invasion in Darien that led state police to Homer Glen, said Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike.
