Murderous Gray Atkins’s (Toby-Alexander Smith) manipulation of fellow inmate Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and grandmother Sheila (Sheila Ruskin) is well under way, and before long, an incident breaks out in the prison’s visitor room.
It’s too late to alert an oblivious Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) to his scheme, and as an alarm bell sounds across the room, she’s caught in the crossfire of the horrifying disturbance.
Meanwhile, back in Albert Square, Sheila has been watching Chelsea’s family from the shadows and snatches her young son Jordan from under their noses.
Elsewhere in EastEnders next week, Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) set a date for their wedding, Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) confides in the wrong person, and Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace) makes a breakthrough with foster daughter Ria Virdi (Aaria Sharma).
Here's everything happening in the episodes airing between Monday 10 and Thursday 13 August.
1. Gray Atkins causes an incident at the prison as Jordan Fox is abducted
Gray's manipulation of Ian with the promise of protection behind bars continues, and now he wants his victim to request a visit from Chelsea. Ian initially refuses to comply, but after tensions escalate behind bars, he realises that he has little choice.
Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) are sceptical and try to talk her out of visiting Ian, but she's determined to go. As Kim takes Jordan (Jahsaiah Williams) and Pearl Fox (Arayah Harris-Buckle) to an event hosted by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) at the community centre, Sheila lurks nearby before making her move and abducting Jordan.
Meanwhile, Ian quickly realises Gray has far more sinister intentions than he first thought. He urges Chelsea to leave the visitors room, but she's already caught up in the chaos as an incident erupts inside the prison.
Back in Walford, panic sets in when Kim and the family discover Sheila has taken Jordan. Jack is alerted to the situation, but before he can fill partner Denise Fox (Diane Parish) in, her sister arrives and breaks the devastating news.
Jack calls Sheila, and manages to uncover a vital lead. Determined to act, Denise decides she'll confront Sheila the moment Jack isn't looking, and she and Kim head off together.
Chelsea remains trapped in the escalating prison drama, and Gray grows increasingly frustrated after hearing nothing from Sheila. He decides it's time to ply the pressure on Ian.
As events spiral further out of control, Ian finds himself in an increasingly dangerous situation. News of what's unfolding soon reaches Albert Square, leaving Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Peter (Thomas Law) and the rest of the Beale family fearing the worst.
2. Max Branning and Cindy Beale set the date for their wedding
Max and Cindy are happier than ever as they set 1 January as the date for their wedding.
That is, until, Priya unexpectedly turns up at the car lot and tries to woo Max again. He's stunned - but will he be able to resist temptation?
Let's face it, this is Max Branning. So probably not.
3. New information comes to light about Joel Marshall's attack
Albert Square teens Amy, Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega), Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman), Ricky Branning (Frankie Day), Will Mitchell (Freddie Phillips), Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) and Davinder 'Nugget' Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) secretly gather to discuss the attack on Joel Marshall (Max Murray).
Their meeting is interrupted when copper Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey) stumbles across them, and the group quickly make their excuses and disperse before raising any further suspicion.
Later, Craig feels like he could get answers from Amy, but Jack intervenes after spotting them talking privately. Craig insists he was simply checking on his colleague's daughter's wellbeing.
It then becomes apparent that Denzel is hiding something, as he behaves suspiciously around her.
Elsewhere, Ricky confides in Lily about his fears over what happened to Joel, but they're forced to cut the conversation short when Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) overhears them. Concerned about her granddaughter's involvement in the assault, Jean later shares her worries with Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace).
Matters only worsen when Eve reveals she's just seen Lily heading into No.43 to see Joel - and Jean wastes no time in dragging Lily home.
When Craig arrives to question Lily, Jean encourages her to tell the truth, and she finally reveals what she witnessed. Later, Amy and Avani head to the box park with Denzel and Lily, where Joel confronts the group.
Meanwhile, after Barney tips off dad Zack Hudson (James Farrar), Jean and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) realise where the teens are and race over to break things up. Once there, Jean reveals what Lily has told Craig... and a shocking new truth finally comes to light.
The revelation sparks a confrontation among the Walford teens, before Amy returns home to No.27 and clashes with Jack. She later opens up to Kat, who urges her to make peace with her dad, but Amy instead finds comfort in Craig.
During an emotional conversation in the park, Amy makes a revealing confession. What is it?
4. Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin host a birthday party for foster daughter Ria Virdi
Jean's issues with her financials continue to cast a dark shadow, leading to tension with Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) when she questions her over months of unpaid rent. Eve is furious with her wife, but they cast matters to one side to focus on an upcoming celebration.
It's Ria's first birthday living with them, and they decide to throw her a party. Unfortunately, her biological mother fails to turn up.
Ria is upset and rushes off, though after some surprising support from Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), Eve manages to repair some damage with the youngster.
5. Nicola Mitchell is a cause for concern
Nicola and Eve find common ground as they open up about their complicated relationships with their parents, although the former quickly shuts the conversation down when son Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) arrives.
As we know, Nic's estranged mother Rose (Marian McLoughlin) is set to arrive within the coming weeks alongside her extended family.
Later, Nicola offers to organise a birthday party for Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) on the anniversary of her father's death. While her gesture is well-meaning, the rest of the clan quietly worry that she's taking on more than she can chew.
