July 28-August 1, 2026 Ocala, Florida LCM (50 meters) Psych Sheet ResultsThe second night of the 2026 YMCA Long Course National Championship continued to deliver exciting racing and tight finishes as several teams remain locked in a tight points battle.
The Upper Main Line YMCA managed to grow their lead in the combined points total on day 2, holding the top spot with 562.5 points, exactly 100 points ahead of Greater Spartanburg. Both teams remain locked in a tighter race for the boys’ team title as Upper Main Line currenty leads Spartanburg by only 24.5 points, with totals of 300 and 275.5, respectively. The team battle on the girls’ side may be the most intense though, as Upper Main Line is currently fending off Lakeland Hills Family YMCA and the YMCA of the Jersey Shore by only about 30 points. Upper Main Line holds that battle with a total of 262.5 points to Lakeland Hills’ 236.5 points and Jersey Shore’s 232 points.
The action in the pool was equally as exciting as the team battle. The girls’ 200 freestyle started off the session with one of the closest finishes of the meet thus far as Etta Yonke of Oshkosh YMCA charged to victory in a personal best time of 2:05.44. The 16-year-old dropped nearly a second and a half from her prelims swim to claim the national title. Just behind her, Serena Dickey of Lakeland Hills and Whitney Kane of Upper Main Line could not be separated, tying for 2nd in 2:05.68. Kane entered the final as the top seed after posting a 2:05.87 in prelims, while Dickey improved on her morning swim of 2:06.30 to solidify the tie.
In the boys’ 200 freestyle, Jayden Kwon of Upper Main Line delivered a dominant performance en route to the national title, dropping over two seconds from his prelims swim to post a winning time of 1:52.31. Kwon was the only swimmer in the field to break 1:53 as he led his competitors by a wide margin. Jack Ackerman of Farmington Valley also improved in the final compared to his prelims performance, touching 2nd in 1:53.07, while Greater Spartanburg’s Maddex Ternes rounded out the podium in 3rd with a time of 1:54.68.
The girls’ 50 backstroke featured a trio of sub-30-second performances, led by Amelia Meehan of Upper Palmetto. The 15-year-old dropped nearly a full second from her prelims swim to stop the clock at 29.39. Behind her, Addyson Despeaux of Ridley Area also improved from prelims in route to dropping a time of 29.69 for 2nd, while 16-year-old Kate Chesley of Greenwich rounded out the podium in 29.88.
Christopher Wasko of Greater Somerset County claimed the national title in the boys’ 50 backstroke, dropping a time of 26.39 to touch the wall first ahead of a competitive field. Michael Metz of Powel Crosley Jr. YMCA finished 2nd in 26.55, while Greater Spartanburg’s Jimmy Beeson touched just behind in 26.59.
The girls’ 200 breaststroke saw Greater Spartanburg capture the top spot on the podium, as Grace Hunt held off a charging field to claim the national title in 2:32.20. The 19-year-old ECU commit entered the final as the top seed after posting a 2:30.95 in prelims and upheld that spot with her finals performance. Lakeland Hills’ Alexia Davies made a significant move in the final, dropping nearly two seconds from her prelims swim to finish 2nd in 2:35.32. Spartanburg’s Claire Burns also moved up the standings, slicing over three seconds from her morning swim to finish 3rd in 2:35.54.
The boys’ 200 breaststroke was highlighted by a strong performance from William Rees of York, as the 18-year-old West Chester University commit captured the national title in a time of 2:16.27. Rees controlled the field in the final, finishing nearly a second ahead of the rest of the competition to secure the top spot on the podium. Cullen Cashman of South Shore YMCA, who was disqualified in the boys’ 50 breaststroke earlier in the meet after initially appearing to win the event, bounced back with a runner-up finish in the 200 breaststroke. The 15-year-old touched in an impresive time of 2:17.05. Rounding out the podium was 17-year-old Brayden Hale of Cheshire YMCA, who finished 3rd in 2:21.12.
The girls’ 400 freestyle relay saw Powel Crosley Jr. YMCA claim the national title in a tightly contested race, as the squad of Hannah Schroeder, Janna Spetz, Marlena Spetz, and Isabelle Schroeder touched in a winning time of 3:54.75. Lakeland Hills finished just behind in 2nd with a time of 3:55.36, led by Madison Kehoe, Lulu Barnard, Vicky Sluk, and Serena Dickey. Upper Main Line rounded out the podium in 3rd, with Whitney Kane, Caroline Quinn, Keilani Silva, and Caroline Moore combining for a time of 3:56.67.
The boys’ 400 freestyle relay closed out the session with another thrilling finish, as Greater Spartanburg captured the national title in a time of 3:29.44. The team of Maddex Ternes, Henry Hutton, Levi Smith, and Jimmy Beeson dropped nearly three seconds from its prelims swim to just edge the Greater Somerset County YMCA’s team. Somerset County touched in a time of 3:29.77 with the team of Domingo Gatti, Greg Rydberg, Jack Thompson, and Christopher Wasko . Upper Main Line rounded out the podium, as Charles O’Hara, Jayden Kwon, Sam Vallino, and Liam Haas touched in 3:31.01.
