Stassi SchroederClark is starring in her own reality show six years after she was fired from Vanderpump Rules—and reveals in an exclusive Parade interview that she’s in a Mr. Mom relationship with her husband Beau Clark.
Fans can see the TV villainess who stoked drama on the Bravo series from 2013-2020 on House of Stassi, which premieres Wednesday, July 29 on Freeform, with the full season then streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ July 30.
House of Stassi will show Schroeder’s tumultuous life with Beau, sisterGeorgianna Aubin, and friends Taylor Strecker, Taylor “Teddy” Donohue, and Rob Evors. Most notably, Vanderpump Rules co-stars and pals Katie Maloney and Kristina Kelly are also a major part of the series.

But it’s her marriage to commercial casting director Beau that takes center stage. Stassi, 38, who raises daughter Hartford, 5, and son Messer, 2, with Beau, 46, tells Parade that House of Stassi will cover a marriage role reversal.
“I see that as an important part of the show because I don’t see that many reality shows where the gender positions are switched and in our house, that is how it is,” she says. “I am the breadwinner, and I make most of the decisions for the family, and Beau is like a stay-at-home dad. He does every single drop-off and pick-up; he does their lunches; he cooks for the house. He runs the household. He does all the things that I should technically be doing, and we really explore that dynamic throughout the show and talk about it a lot, and what it means, and how it makes him feel, and I think that’s really important for people to see that. That like, there are stay-at-home dads, too. It doesn’t always have to be a stay-at-home mom.”

In addition to House of Stassi, she’s currently supporting her family with a brand deal with Popsicle. In the summer “flavor feud” promotion, Stassi is a celebrity team captain for the cherry popsicle, while podcaster Drew Afualo and singer Ashlee Simpson represent team orange and grape, respectively. They are fighting over which flavor will get a standalone box.

Stassi says she now picks brands based on her family, noting, “I feel like once you become a mom, every job opportunity or every decision you have to make that comes across your desk, you have to factor them in but now, I look for things I know my kids would also be into. Kids are obsessed with popsicles. We have a popsicle like five days out of the seven every single week during the summer.”
And it will likely be Mr. Mom Beau handing out the icy treats! When asked if she had to talk Beau into major camera time on the new show, Stassi smiles, “No, I didn’t and I should probably bring this up to him now and ask him, like, ‘Hey, were you okay with it?’ He’s always just like supported my dreams so much and there was never a moment where he was just like, ‘hey, I’m not sure if I want to do this.’ I think he just like wants me to get everything that I try and go after.”

Vanderpump Rules showed single Stassi navigating a few relationships, including a notorious one with co-star Jax Taylor. But House of Stassi presents the star in a new time in her life with adorable husband Beau. Stassi tied the knot with him in September 2020 and she gushes, “He’s the best person I’ve ever met. Every decision that he makes comes from a place of being morally sound, like he’s trying to make the decision based on being a good person, and I think that’s one of the most amazing qualities you can find in a human being.”
However, Stassi is hard on herself, saying, “As a wife, I could be better at it. I have my insecurities about—I’m so focused on being a mom and work that I recognize that [with] Beau, I need to be better for [him] sometimes. But, right now, that’s like the season of my life where you can’t have it all. Some things are always suffering and right now, I’m really focused on my children and my work and it’s like if you don’t fit into that category, I don’t know how to make it work. But I think as a mom, I’m really understanding. I think I’m a lot more patient that I realized I was but I’m also like—I don’t have a parenting style or anything like that. To me, it’s just like surviving. Like, every day, you want to survive and do the best for your kids. I just hope that my kids are happy and confident. That’s all you can hope for them and I hope that I’m a mom that’s giving that to them.”

Reconnecting with VPR friend Katie Maloney
Vanderpump Rules fans will be intrigued with House of Stassi covering the star’s reunion with friend Katie. She recently told Marie Claire, “No one knows that we had a falling out for years.”
Stassi tells Parade about Katie’s participation, “Oh, nothing has made more sense than that. It felt like it was written in the stars, like a destiny kind of situation. Katie’s been one of my best friends throughout my 20s. When I was off Vanderpump Rules we kind of drifted apart for a few reasons and we’d always made it a point to like support each other in things. If we ever needed each other, we’d be there but we lost our friendship and once this show started coming into fruition, I was just like, this feels like the absolute right moment for us to try to work on our friendship again because our friendship was on reality TV the whole time before. It only makes sense that we’re doing this on camera this time around.”

VR’s Kristina is also on House of Stassi and Stassi points out, “She’s the whole reason that I started working at SUR [restaurant]. I’ve been friends with her since I was like 20 years old and she’s still one of my closest friends and I wanted this show to be about the people that I loved the most and she’s one of those people.”
Stassi is a reality veteran and reminds us, “I’ve been doing reality TV since I was 16 years old. I was on the Amazing Race with my family and then I did this show Queen Bees and even before Vanderpump Rules, I shot a few things for different reality shows and it just feels like it’s always been a part of me and what I do and what I know. I like to dream big so this [House of Stassi] was something I worked really hard on and it took almost four years to get made. I’m really proud of it.
“I’ve been off Vanderpump Rules for six years and a lot has happened. I used to give all of myself to Vanderpump Rules but I was single then, going from relationship to relationship, just manic, crazy, lots of dark passenger moments, and now I’m married. I am a mom of two. I have a lot more responsibilities and I think there’s a lot for women around my age to relate to. I think my audience has grown up with me and so they’re seeing the progression of things. When people watch it, I think they’re going to feel a lot less alone about what’s going on in their lives, whether that is getting into a relationship or having kids or being the breadwinner of your family or owning your own home. Or friendship breakups and makeups. As we get older, we all go in different paths with our lives and that’s a big theme in the show as well.”
According to Stassi, viewers have a lot to look forward to as “there’s way more drama than I actually anticipated there would be. I remember when we first started filming I told all the cast members, all my friends and family who we decided to do this with, I was like, ‘You guys have to be honest about all of your feelings and all of your thoughts. You can’t sweep anything under the rug. We need to like talk about it, be open, the show needs to be the realest thing that’s ever made’ and they really took that seriously, every single one of them, to the detriment of me, sometimes. They took it really far.” She laughs, “I will live with that.”
