Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had an outstanding T20I series with the bat. He finished the tour as the leading run scorer with 151 runs in three matches at an average of 50.33. His consistent batting performances earned him his first-ever Player of the Series award in international cricket.
Now, the left-handed batter has climbed an incredible 230 places in the T20I batting rankings to reach a career-best 48th position on the back of stunning performances on the Zimbabwe tour. It is a massive rise for a player who has only recently started playing international cricket.
He now has 536 rating points in the updated ICC T20 Batting Rankings. Meanwhile, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan remains the No. 1 T20I batter in the world. Kishan now has 916 rating points, and he has surpassed all-time records of Suryakumar Yadav (912) and Virat Kohli (909). Overall, he is now just behind Abhishek Sharma (931) and Dawid Malan (919).
