A 17-year-old has died after he was ejected from a vehicle that struck a tree in suburban Barrington Hills Saturday.
According to authorities, a driver was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed on Brinker Road at approximately 2:23 a.m. Saturday when the SUV left the roadway.
That SUV then struck multiple trees and rolled over, according to authorities.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, a 17-year-old was ejected from the vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other occupants of the vehicle were injured and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, police said.
Speed was a contributing factor in the crash according to police, and an investigation remains underway.
