"People are like, ‘Oh, why are you single?’ And I’m like, ‘First of all, there are a lot of people out here making single look real good,'" Clarkson said during her show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on July 24, according to social media posts (via Page Six). “And if you didn’t really understand what I meant by that, it’s like you see relationships and you’re like, 'I am so glad I’m going home alone.'"
"You know what’s not happening in my house? That s***," she joked. "If you are in a relationship, the hardest part I feel like is just keeping that fire alive and still dating. And, like, still making it feel magical and not monotonous."
The American Idol winner has been candid over the past several years about embracing life on her own and focusing on raising her children rather than searching for another relationship. While she's admitted that she isn't completely ruling out love someday, she's repeatedly said she's in no rush to get back into the dating world. "I love my kids. I have my family and friends, I have my jobs," she told People magazine in early 2024. “It’s all these beautiful things that are working really well."
Clarkson went on to say that she never really wanted to get married the first time around, but did so because it was important to Blackstock. She told the outlet that she doesn't have any plans to remarry while her kids are still living with her.

Clarkson hasn't gone public with a relationship since her split from Blackstock. The two tied the knot in 2013 and had two children together. In August 2025, Blackstock died, three years after being diagnosed with cancer.
