Prime Video has finally set a release date for Blade Runner 2099 after a very long wait for news for fans of the franchise.
The streaming giant has confirmed that the series will be released on Tuesday 25 November 2026, with the series' first trailer being unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday (24 July 2026).
The series marks the first live-action Blade Runner television show, extending a universe that began with Ridley Scott's 1982 film and continued with Denis Villeneuve's sequel, Blade Runner 2049.
The announcement came during the show's Hall H panel, where Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh and Euphoria veteran Hunter Schafer joined showrunner Silka Luisa and Alcon Entertainment co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson to speak about the project.
Prime Video confirmed that all eight episodes of the limited series will drop simultaneously in more than 240 countries and territories.

Hunter Schafer plays Cora, a fugitive who becomes a Blade Runner as a last resort and is then forced to partner with Olwen, a Replicant who is mere days from dying, as she hunts down a runaway hiding a truth that could collapse the city.
Yeoh, fresh from her Academy Award triumph for Everything Everywhere All At Once, portrays the pivotal role of Olwen.
In the trailer, Schafer's Cora captures the show's dystopian dread, asking: "Replicants, they keep taking it all away. How much longer until we have nothing? Until we are nothing?"
For newcomers to the franchise, Replicants are bioengineered androids, while Blade Runners are the special police officers tasked with tracking down and "retiring" rogue synthetics.
In an age where artificial intelligence is now prevalent in everyday lives, the franchise feels all the more timely than ever.
It remains to be seen if the show will be a closed book or become an ongoing run...
Alongside Yeoh and Schafer, the rest of the lead cast is rounded out by The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes star Dimitri Abold and Somewhere Boy actor Lewis Gribben
Other cast members include The Woman King star Sheila Atim, House of the Dragon star Matthew Needham, and Strike and Furiosa favourite Tom Burke.
