After weeks of commanding runaway leads at the end of the DJ round, Groen was knocked down from the top spot, kicking off the week with only $11,400 compared to Ryan’s $24,000. It was a lock game for the new champ, who, even with a wrong answer in FJ, took the win, dropping down his $1,000 wager for a daily total of $23,000.
Groen knew it, too, turning over the reins and using his FJ answer to write a message to the victor: “What is... congrats Sam!! HBD!” After a 12-day run, Groen took home second place with $8,400.
Meanwhile, Chichilla, who ended DJ with $6,900, ended in third place with $0 after an incorrect FJ answer.
Ryan will be back on Tuesday for attempt number 2.
