"Bunnie is just doing the thing where she’s still protecting him," said LaPaglia, who said she had been through a similar experience of wanting to "protect" and "encourage" an ex when she wasn't "fully stepped out of the situation yet," seemingly referring to the tumultuous end of her relationship with singer Zach Bryan in October 2024.
LaPaglia also claimed that Jelly Roll's "only redeeming thing" was "how much he loved his wife," adding of the Grammy winner's 275-pound weight loss, "It’s like, to finally amount to this point of your life where you’ve made it, and then you lose all this weight and you start talking different, you start acting different and then you drop the woman that saved you and, kind of, made you. I don’t think there would be Jelly Roll at this level if it wasn’t for Bunnie.”
Jelly Roll, 41, filed for divorce from Bunnie, 46, in May after nearly 10 years of marriage, but the pair have maintained a positive relationship publicly. In June, Bunnie even revealed on her podcast that she and the "Save Me" singer were still planning on having a child together and co-parenting, calling him her "best friend," despite their split.
